Polished Concrete – Overlay

A Polished Concrete Overlay is the ideal flooring choice to create an aesthetically pleasing polished concrete floor. The smartest choice when conventional concrete is simply not an option.

A Polished Concrete Overlay can predominantly be chosen when conventional concrete cannot be used. One example where a polished concrete overlay is best suited is if the project cannot accommodate a 100mm depth needed for conventional concrete. Contractors can, therefore, place an overlay at a 10mm depth. A trowelling method is used to place the polished concrete overlay. Contractors then process the overlay precisely as with conventional concrete using diamond tooling.

A stunning project that Concrete Polishing were thrilled to be apart of was a Polished Concrete overlay for a residential project in Cambridgeshire. The client was wanting to achieve a modern, clean, uniformed aesthetic. The colour chosen by our client was a light grey. The type of finish was a Rustic Style finish. This is where there is no aggregate exposure. Contractors placed the overlay throughout the downstairs at a depth of 10mm, mechanically diamond polished and contractors completed by sealing the floor. 

Aside, from our client opting for a Polished Concrete floor. Our client also chose an overlay for their stairwell and stair area. This choice therefore complemented the flooring beautifully.
