Polished Concrete – Worcestershire

Our client was in the first stages of completing their floor. At their home in, Worcestershire. They, however, decided they wanted polished concrete throughout the whole of the ground floor.

The central part of the extension was to be open plan. Therefore, the client wanted to extend polished concrete throughout to include the stairs also. The clients chosen type of finish was the Exposed Aggregate Finish. Therefore, natural aggregate is exposed.

The extension was, however, to be a holiday home. Therefore, the client’s flooring needed to include little maintenance, stain-resistant, and aesthetically pleasing, yet, due to the contractors carrying out polished concrete on the stairs. The concrete would, therefore, need to be slip-resistant. The concrete supplied, laid and finished by us. Once the contractors had placed the floor, mechanically diamond polishing it could then take place. To achieve exposed aggregate finish contractors performed an initial heavy grind. It was the grinding that exposed the aggregate. After, the grinding contractors carried out the stages to mechanically polish the floor. The contractors then added a concrete sealer. This aids with slip resistance and stain resistance. To achieve this finish, contractors, therefore, carried out the same process, except the work was carried out using hand tooling on the stairs.    

The whole process for this polished concrete floor in Worcestershire was done by contractors using the Husqvarna HIPERFLOOR® system and tooling. 

Upon completion of the project, the results were stunning! All the client’s requirements met. And therefore however all completed with the budget. This project, as a result, exceeded the customer’s expectations. A unique project!
